Hands-on robotics training, coding instruction, and STEM education designed for secondary students in Nairobi β in a format that fits around school life.
Nairobi Robotics Lab has been running STEM and robotics programmes in Kilimani, Nairobi for 15 years. We work with secondary school students, giving them access to hands-on technology education that goes beyond the classroom.
Our approach blends structured robotics engineering with coding fundamentals, delivered in an accessible after-school and Saturday format. Every cohort is intentionally kept small so that every student gets real guidance, real builds, and real confidence.
Five focused programmes that take students from complete beginners to confident builders and coders.
Hands-on sessions where students design, build, and program robots using real components. Runs on weekday afternoons to complement the school day.
Structured coding courses covering introductory and intermediate programming. Students write, test, and debug real code from the very first session.
A broader curriculum covering science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through project-based learning β bridging school subjects to real-world application.
Structured weekend cohorts of 30 students, running term by term. A focused environment with peer learning, mentored builds, and project showcases.
We work directly with international schools in Nairobi to integrate robotics and coding programmes into their extracurricular and STEM frameworks.

Our Saturday programme is one of the most structured robotics learning experiences available to secondary students in Nairobi. Each cohort is capped at 30 students, runs on a fixed-term schedule, and culminates in a student showcase.
Because cohort sizes are intentionally small, places fill up quickly each term. We recommend registering early to secure a spot for your student.
A clear, supported journey β for both students and parents.
Contact us via the form, call, or email. We'll confirm availability, programme fit, and answer any questions you have.
Your student is placed in a cohort of up to 30 peers. Sessions begin at the scheduled start date β no previous experience required.
Week by week, students work on guided projects β robots, code, and engineering challenges β with our instructors alongside them.
At the end of each term, students present what they've built. Many go on to the next level programme or join school partnership tracks.
Nairobi Robotics Lab has established partnerships with international schools in Nairobi, integrating our programmes into their extracurricular STEM activities.
We run embedded robotics & coding sessions within the school's STEM programme. Tailored to the school's curriculum and student age groups.
We welcome enquiries from schools looking to add structured robotics and coding to their offering. Get in touch to discuss a partnership.
Every session centres on physical builds and working code. Students learn by doing β not by watching.
Our curriculum is grounded in the Nairobi context β relevant challenges, local problem-solving, African innovation.
30-student cohorts mean focused instruction, peer accountability, and a real learning community β not just a class.
After-school and Saturday formats are designed not to clash with academic commitments or extracurriculars.
We're building a generation of Nairobi innovators β students who know how to think, build, and solve problems. That takes a community, not just a classroom.
There are plenty of ways to learn to code. There are very few places in Nairobi where a secondary student can walk in on a Saturday morning and leave with a working robot they built themselves.
We've been doing this for 15 years because we believe the students who grow up building things β really building, with their hands and their minds β become the engineers, entrepreneurs, and problem-solvers that Kenya needs.
Our partnerships with international schools, our capped cohort sizes, and our hands-on approach all exist for the same reason: to give every student who walks through our door a genuine, lasting STEM foundation.
Every cohort ends with a showcase. Students present real working projects β robots, apps, circuits, and more.
Students design and program a robot to navigate a course autonomously using sensor data and basic AI logic.
Students identify a local Nairobi challenge and build a working app or web tool as their term project.
An electronics and STEM project β students build a sensor array that monitors and reports on environmental data.
"My daughter came home after her first Saturday session completely fired up. She talked about nothing else all week. The programme is incredibly well-run and the instructors clearly love what they do."
"I had zero coding experience when I joined. By the end of the term I had built a working robot and written my first real programme. It's the best thing I've done outside school."
Fill in the form and we'll get back to you promptly. You can also call or email us directly.
Places are limited to 30 students per cohort. To avoid missing out, we recommend enquiring at least two weeks before the next cohort start date.
